Monaco: Does it really still belong?

Monaco is a very challenging track, and absolutely deserves to stay. Taking it off would be like taking the Daytona 500 off the NASCAR schedule or the Indianapolis 500 off the IndyCar schedule.

The history and tradition and grandioseness of the Monaco Grand Prix far outweigh the need for the actual race itself to be rivetingly competitive.

So what if there's not a lot of passing. The course is challenging enough. And they fill the stands and millions of people watch on TV.

With the metric #$$%^ ton of money the parties involved have, is it completely impossible to add passing zones? They fill in the bay there for new land, right?

It is a wonderful place/event, be a shame if the cars just outgrew it.

There has to be somewhere on a track where a faster car can pass a slower car without the latter moving over. Monaco has no such place. The track is too short and too narrow and has been for decades. It's on the schedule because it always has been. F1 is stuck with it, for better or worse.

I would be on board if there were examples of pretty much any overtakes each year at Monaco. Honestly, there are very, very few such examples recently. And the reason is this (current cars are far left):

There has been great racing with lots of passing at the Monaco Historics the last several years. Especially in the group for 1973-1980 F1 cars that are usually driven by pro drivers because the much shorter wheelbase allows it, plus non-carbon brakes. Lots of vids on youtube for that bi-annual event.
