...my understanding was that BAR was going to do their speed test at the Bonneville salt flats after the China GP, on their way back to England. Did it happen??

The place was under water - possibly still is. Unlikely an attempt will go ahead this year.

Go to here, http://www.indyracereports.com/ You will have to look for the write up but its there with pictures.
Miles was there for their test session at the airport and out on the salt. That was before the rains came. The SCTA speed weeks were also rained out after the first 5 days were run this year. They only had one car I believe over 300 mph this year because of Rough wet Salt conditions. I was there for speed weeks and Tues it was full of Puddles, We came back Wednesday to find water as far as the eye could see! It looked funny to see all those Vehicles out there with all that water surrounding them. Most were at the least 2 miles from the paved road's end

415kph isn't too shabby. I wonder how much more it has in it.

It wasn't typed as a thumbs down, it was a colon : followed by a dash - but this board changes that to a thumbs down. Sorry for that. It certainly wasn't intended to be how you interpreted it.

They will be lucky to just get off the end of the road next May. Unless this rain situation moves further north. Right now they getting anough rain allmost every week to keep it under water until next june or july?
