I did some recordings during practice for this year's USGP but I haven't gotten them posted to my site yet (it's only been what, four months?).
I've thought about offering various sounds as ringtones, but I have no idea what the "parameters" are for ringtones. What format should they be, and how long, etc.? What makes a "good" ringtone?
Personally, I hate goofy ringtones and my phone is always set to "happy pants" (vibrate). But I know other people like them and I wouldn't mind making some.
The sound of a F1 car screaming full tilt down the IMS front straight would be a trez cool ringtone!! If I had a cell phone thats what I would want.
For the record, I never had a problem with CART in 1995. Its when they turned beligerant twards IMS and their fans for supporting the IRL that turned me off them.
I recorded on my phone last May during the second week of race practice my ring tone. There must have been 12 cars in a pack comming down the main straight - they come by and move into turn one, it lasts about 12 seconds.
