  • Klein confirmed for Jaguar

    So much for Townsend Bell:

Jaguar Racing has confirmed that Austria's Christian Klien will be Mark Webber's team mate for the 2004 Formula One season. Klien begins testing today at a three-day test at the Circuit de Catalunya. Klien drove an F1 car for the first time only a week ago at Valencia but impressed the team greatly.

If Klein is bringing money, he is:

Australian Mark Webber believes his Jaguar team need a bigger budget in order to be able to challenge the top teams in Formula One.

"The car has good potential, but we suffer money-wise," Webber said in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport. "We don't have enough resources and to find more is not easy at all. Excellent people work at Jaguar, but the budget is limited.

I read that he was .1 sec off Webber's time. The first time the kid was in an F1 car. Another 20 year old ice man. As far as him bringing money - I don't know, but the statement read "We are happy to employ him" - doesn't that normally indicate that he's getting paid?

Jaguar tested a bunch of kids, he was the fastest, he got the seat.

Who cares if he brough money? Fastest means he was the fastest. Welcome to F1, Christian.
