  • ...this is as good of time as any, west-coast GP

..with the announcement that there will be no Canadian GP next season, might as well get the speculation going on a 2nd USGP or west-coast GP.

Long Beach might seem like a logical event, depending on what happens with CART and subsequently too I guess the IRL. The big question that immeadiately comes to mind is the date?? Would F1 keep the current date, probably not. Would Long Beach be willing & able to move dates?? And most importantly, would Long Beach be willing & able to pony up the additional costs??

For those reasons and I'm sure a couple more, I have doubts about an F1 return to Long Beach.

Talk lately too of San Francisco tossing their name in the hat for an F1 event....I'd say at this point anyway this is even more remote.

I still stick with Las Vegas. They were the '1st-losers' in the USGP bid back in 1999. A race through the streets of the 'The Strip', which with all the hotels & casinos would provide an outstanding backdrop. Not to mention that with all the glitz, glamour and money in Vegas would make the event the US equivilant of Monaco.
a bad day at the race track beats a good day at work
