The news that Ron has returned to some (as yet unclear) role at the top of McLaren F1 has to be the biggest news of the offseason so far. I expect a lot of heads will be rolling. The topic of Team Principal is apparently set to be discussed. Sounds like last season's debacle will be the end of Whitmarsh. Ron can't be too happy seeing two key players (Paddy Lowe, and , of course, Lewis) jump to Mercedes., and work that McLaren is scrambling just to particpate in the openning test. I doubt Ron can make major impact on the start of the season, but maybe get the house in order for the back half of the season?

As a long-time McLaren man, it's great to have him back at the helm. This reminds me of when Bill Snyder left Kansas State. When he retired, the Wildcats started losing, but when he came back, Kansas State suddenly became winners again.
As Niki Lauda once said, Ron Dennis is not everyone's sweetheart, but he wins. Now maybe they can get back to winning in Woking.

I wouldn't say "stole". They were offered the information by Nigel Stepney of Ferrari who had already stolen it. McLaren did not perpetrate the theft.Last edited by flatlander_48; 01-20-2014, 02:21 PM.
