  • 1955 Belgian Grand Prix

This is a must see film.

The '1955 Belgian Grand Prix' film commissioned by Shell, tells the story of the 1955 Formula 1 Belgian Grand Prix held at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

Thanks for posting! That film is fabulous! I agree - it's a must see for any F1 fan with any interest in the history of the sport.

Great find! Thanks for the link.

Love the the scene of the dog wandering across the track, and tavern owner setting up tables and chairs for his customers at the edge of the track. Really emphasizes how "public" the roads were in the old days.

You'd think a Formula 1 race in their backyard was an everyday occurrence

This race was held just 6 days before the 24 Hrs of LeMans. In retrospect I wonder how different the mood was and what if any safety measures were made at Spa the following year.

I imagine it was... Can you imagine having the opportunity to drive a public road where they just so happen to host an F1 race on and the locals and tourists not taking advantage of the opportunity?
