I'm still not sure I believe that this will actually happen, but if it does, that looks like a whole lot of fun. Fingers crossed!

Nice. Hey, wouldn't it be a kick in the grapes if this thing actually happened?

If the Koreans can do it ... surely the Texans can, wouldn't 'ya think, or hope?

            I'd certainly hope.

I also like that from the start, they're pitching it as a facility for a variety of motorsports series. If there's a big beautiful race track sitting in a fun location, I don't want to hear that a series can't race there "because our focus is really on F1".

Can't wait for those Texan "Love Hotels". Yee-Ha! Any "'sportin women" in this town?

No doubt that the Texans can do it. The question isn't whether they can or not, the real question is how long will they want to do it? I lived in Dallas in 1984 when the US Grand Prix was staged there and aside from the course breaking up and it being un-Godly hot there just wasn't any interest.

I have high hopes that Mr. Helmund will pull it off. I'm already planning to buy tix and reserve a camping site as soon as they go on sale.

Of all the cities in Texas, Austin is the best place to try and hold this event successfully, IMO. The only thing really holding it back is the "un-Godly hot" factor.

If they hold it in June as expected, the average daily high in Austin is 91, a tad warm. Early June (avg 88) would be better than late June (avg 93).

I'm expecting Austin to be paired with Canada for logistics, and it would be sensible to go to Austin first for temperature reasons.

We'll see if it even happens, I suppose. A man can dream. . . .

I most likely will watch it from my air-conditioned living room, so I'm not too worried about the heat, but I hope it happens just to have a USGP on the schedule.

I wonder if they could pair it up with the Brazilian GP in the fall. They could even bypass Abdulalk down at the Panama Canal.

Well, it's not like it's gonna be the first time Texas has been taken to the cleaners by snake oil salesmen.

"Mickey" and "Mouse" were removed from the RC at INDY, looks like "Minnie" and Mouse" will be part of Austin.

I really wonder if this gets pulled off -- pulled off the schedule.

Sorry, but I'm not impressed with the layout. Tilke couldn't design an interesting track if he was looking at a picture of an interesting track while doing it. The only thing more boring than a Tilke track is the road course at the Speedway.
