I'm glad that some of the Formula E schedule is during Indycar's off time. It's a good way for drivers to never completely get out of the action plus it gives me as a fan something to look forward to in the lonely winter months.
I hope that Formula E can learn from the lesson of other "winter" formula car series and line itself up with the likes of Formula One and Indycar. I know that others might see Formula E as possible contender to Indycar but there are obviously more drivers then seats all around the world. If each series minds it's own business and is smart with their decisions - I can't see why all three can't exist with one another."In IndyCar, no one makes money. It's just great, pure racing." - Sebastien Bourdais

They aren't "contenders", they "are among the latest group of drivers to express interest in contesting the inaugural Formula E season". This consists of signing up in a "Driver's Club", which is nothing more than a wish list established by the Formula E management.
It's meaningless.

Formula E management is much more interested in making money from this enterprise than benefiting mankind by developing an electric race car. We shall see how this turns out on September 13th, less than eight months from now.
How much money will the FIA be willing to toss in? Unless a large financial committment is made soon I don't see how they can hold races as scheduled.Last edited by rrrr; 01-27-2014, 07:27 PM.

The schedule says they will be racing in September and October, and they also have three events scheduled in four weeks starting in December. In spite of this there is no information at all about these races on the website.
Pardon my skepticism.

I have this same feeling when I post my feelings in the Indycar section.
