I always wanted to see the Jim Hall Chapparal museum but it is just too darn far out there, almost 6 hours from Dallas.

It wasn't there in 2001 when we visited, but I did get to drive on Unser Blvd.!😊

I always wanted to see the Jim Hall Chapparal museum but it is just too darn far out there, almost 6 hours from Dallas.

The stretch between Fort Worth and Abilene is mildly scenic in places (well, maybe not to a guy with a view of Denali out his back door). But the part west of Abilene is a whole lot of nothing. Wind turbines, pump jacks, and center pivot irrigation units are your scenic highlights.

It's sad for Albuquerque, but now will be a whole lot closer for me.

Edit: I've been to the Jim Hall museum. It's actually part of a petroleum museum. Also nearby is the George Bush house, a modest ranch style home where two presidents, a first lady, and a governor (Jeb) lived.

I went there with my mom sadly my mom has passed too. I could have met big al but my mom couldn't wait she had to be back at work by a certain day that was 2013 or 14.
