  • Cool Graham Hill photo

    image.png

I think this is an extraordinary shot. Nothing is uninteresting.

(not my photo, taken from another site where it was not credited, I don't claim it, I wish I had
    taken it but I didn't, blah...blah...blah...)

Not a bad career for a guy who never got his driver's license until he was 24 years old.

Rather untidy exit for the butter-smooth nonpareil.

4 wheel drift. To be fast you had to slide through the corners.

There is a lot going on in that shot of Hill. I don't think you want to get a car with well under 200 hp sideways as you just scrub speed, Grahams face does not have his usual relaxed look as if he is saying "bloody ell" . Fun fact about Graham Hill. His helmet always carried the colors of the London Rowing Club. As a long time rower myself I looked up his rowing career and it was very impressive. LRC is considered one of the top rowing clubs in the world and for four years he was the stroke seat for the mens 8, basically the quarterback of the team. Graham also was the coach for the LRC womens team where he started dating one of crew, the future Bette Hill.

Graham Hill worked on engines in the Royal Navy as well. He was assigned to the cruiser HMS Swiftsure.

The only Triple Crown winner...maybe in our lifetimes.

I thought maybe Alonso would have a shot. I wish Penske or Chip would have given him
                        a chance at it.

Hill was a damned good driver. Damon was sorta good too...
