Today, Lewis Hamilton broke the most laps led at a single World Championship venue. Vuky held it since '55 with 483 laps when he was dominant at the 500 and the race counted toward the championship .

He led 150 laps in 1952, and obviously it was his only world championship race of the season. Surprisingly nobody else has led more laps in an entire world championship season without accidentally managing to win a race or two somewhere along the way. John Watson's 138 laps in the 1977 season is the next highest after Vuky.
