  • Former IMS Radio Network Flagship station going dark

Emmis AM 1070 signal is going off the air August 2. The tower land has been sold and the AM signal is going away. Emmis says it may not be permanent, I believe it is.

WIBC 1070 was the longtime flagship station for the IMS Radio Network and the place where Lou Palmer and Donald Davidson worked magic on daily reports and qualification days. For a radio guy, sad to see a 50K watt license go in the dumper like this.
"For in the final analysis, our most basic common link is that we all inhabit this small planet. We all breathe the same air, we all cherish our children's future, and we are all mortal".

John Kennedy at American University 1963

"Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power"

    A. Lincoln

Big John liked to disco party down and hang at The Vu.
      The ten seven oh whirlybird.

No 1070 is like Georgia without peaches.
