Indy 500's on YouTube

I've enjoyed watching the races in high definition on YouTube. However I was wondering who puts them up? Some high def races go back to 09 and yet some, like the 2016, a milestone event, is in lower resolution and missing the pre race coverage. I also noticed that these were ABC/ESPN races so I take it we will never see the last 2 races on You tube since they were on NBC? Just wondering.I'm just glad they have up what they have but the high def races are incredible on my computer.Thanks for any responses. Love TF.

Youtube is awesome. Last week I was surfing the races from the late 40s and 50s, and gained a newfound respect for drivers like Bill Vukovich, Bill Holland, Roger Ward and others. Those drivers certainly had you know whats of steel.

Previously I had seen the pictures and short video clips of that era. But being able to watch them running numerous laps at a time gave me a whole new perspective and appreciation. Safety in racing has come a long, long way since then.

Hopefully NBC will post the last 2 complete races in the near future. I'm guessing you probably have to pay for the NBC sports app for now.

Unfortunately a great archive of old races (asopher1) has been pulled from Youtube. He made the mistake of posting F1 content and they don't look to kindly on that sort of thing. Hopefully he can get a lot of the Indycar content back up on his backup channel

He says he will reupload the Indycar races. But I'm with you, he should have started a new channel for the F1 races in case it got nuked.

The 60" smart tv with YoutubeTV is awesome. Youtube is a free app so watching on the big screen is awesome.

Champcar Forever is the uploader i remember most fondly
He uploaded everything CART from VHS tape. Not the great quality available.

The content runs deep. I have an even deeper fascination of the old Nordscleiffe footage. Alan de Cantenet and Hobbs classic Legends of Motorsport... Its there in all its glory.

Laps around the old Spa is well worth the watch.

My favorite has to be the '89 Indy 500.

The old old stuff is the best.
