Very nice looking car. Like the outside color, but, not crazy about the interior.

Love the exterior color. Had those wheels on my 300zx rally car for a few events, and worked on these at Zimdars' Motors back in the day when they were new. I can still hear the injectors clicking over the subdued sound of that straight six at idle/hood up.

This is a beautiful example. Looks nice.

My Aunt had a 1981 2+2. She had a Long commute. I drove the car when it had over 200,000 mies on it and told her it needed new shocks and she told me to deal with it and get new tires. I ordered new KYB socks and BF Goodrich Touring TA. That car still drove so good and drove until 325,000 until her kid killed it.

I always loved these cars. A friend had one, and it was a good time riding around with her. Those Nissan V6s are amazing engines. I owned two Maximas over the years and took them both over 300,000 and 400,000 miles respectively, and never, ever had to have the engines worked on. As long as you did regular oil changes, they were pretty bulletproof lumps.

Except the 280ZX in the article is an inline 6.
Unfortunately, the 280ZX suffered from the 80s malaise and in stock form was much more a boulevardier than sports car as was it's predecessor. Some even called it the 'Japanese Monte Carlo'.

I'd bet that you could live with that interior color if the car had a bench seat.

Big fan of the 240z and 260z... but the 280 - especially in th e 2+2 - seemed so bloated and uninspiring when compared to the previous models.

              IMO.

The 280Z could look good and have a good stance.

240Z, 260Z and 280Z had same body. The 280ZX was the change.
                  Had a 77 280Z. A sweet machine for it's time.

Aaahhhh Yes, same body, ok. The bare essentials in the 240 were drastically different than the Luxo-boat materials, interior, etc of the 280z. still cool, but not a stripped down 240z. .

The 280zx and the 2+2 were just hideous.

                    Thanks for the clarification. 👌

I like to think they went back uphill with the 350.

                          That would be 280ZX.
The 240Z, 260Z and 280Z were all the S30 chassis/body. The only appearance difference was the '5mph' bumpers on the 280Z.
                          The 280ZX was the S130 chassis/body.

My next door neighbor had a black and gold 1985. Very pretty, just sat in his garage until about ten years ago when he sold it. Stupid really.
