Excuse me, I'm not exactly sure what this post is about, but two things caught my eye:
1930 Phoenix AZ State Fair (non AAA)
To my knowledge, the AZ State Fair ran AAA exclusively from 1927 to 1931 inclusive - have you gotten the year wrong, or have you found something extraordinary?
1936 Langhorne PA (non AAA)
According to what I have, Langhorne Speedway ran only three dates that year due to construction work on an access road; two were for AAA Big cars and one for AMA Motor cycles. In other words, there were no "non AAA" races.
Thanks Michael. The post is about what I've added to the viewer. The AAA seasons are based on Wikipedia and since those races are not included there, I listed them as non AAA. Perhaps these are AAA events, but not part of the championship season? I can change it to "(AAA non-championship)". If these races were part of the championship season, we should try to fix Wikipedia. We are lucky to have those old films, so I included them in the viewer (Post #1).
Thanks, it makes sense now. And yes, we're lucky to have those old films, and for having you to put them up here. Good job!
I know wikipedia is easy to use, but it's also very lazy to rely on wikipedia when there's a World Wide Web at your disposal. It's not necessary to stop your research at the first link you find, since that is mostly wikipedia which is not very good. "AAA non-championship" is fine.
I updated 1930 Phoenix and 1936 Langhorne to "AAA non-championship." Thanks much. There are a couple of other races in other years around then that I also have listed as non-AAA. I will investigate those further sometime. Yes, I did consult other racing history sites before relying on Wikipedia. What I did was compare several seasons of Wikipedia to these other sites and found no differences. So that led me to trust what we have up on Wikipedia. So here are some of the sites I used for reference when checking the viability of Wikipedia:
