    which would it be?

    Only one.

    This one is too easy.

Indy 1982. Johncock was my favorite driver back then and to see him win the big one so spectacularly would be the most thrilling experience as a racing fan that I could imagine.

1982. Foyt's 25th anniversary. Weird start. Wild finish. Good weather. Hard luck Gordy finally winning a "full" 500 mile race. He won the race everyone wants to forget, and won the race everyone will remember!

        1962

My first year at the track during quals. I was so wound up about it when we left that I probably would have come outta my shorts had I attended the actual race.

'53 or '54. I'd love to have seen Vuky do his thing.
          Have a very blessed day!

1960 - would love to see the Rathmann-Ward duel.

The only one I've missed since `52 and it was won by my all-time favorite driver... 1972.

However it would have been great to have been old enough to remember the 53 and 54 race.

Now I do remember parts of the 58 race but the first one I have the best memories of where I had developed into a real fan was 1960 and the duel is what I remember

Still If it hadn't of been for a Biology final out in Oregon I would have gotten to see Mark get milk!

I been feeling it since 1966, now..."

'59 was also a great one, the same two battling it out.

I assume this isn't just a question for IMS attendance. If it is, it would be '86 because I couldn't return the Saturday it was finally held.

I would have liked to have attended the Knoxville Nationals the time that Doug Wolfgang transferred through all those mains.

That would be my second choice... but it's a very close second

1973 in spite of the circumstances. It would have made 32 consecutive races.

Hey, any of the board track races from 1913 till 1931 is my second choice and any of the races on the beach course at Daytona from 1949 till 1958.

1978 Indy was the first race I missed since my first one in 69. I was going to a private school that year and they would not let me out the number of days I needed to go with my dad, who was helping the Hopkins team that year.

The 1923 Indy 500 when the lead changed 15 times in the first 67 laps between Murphy, Milton, Durant and Wilcox.

To follow the USAC trail in the 50's and 60's.

Any board track in the 20's.
