    there's enough free space in the engine compartment to put a couple pieces of luggage and perhaps even the dog and the cat!

    no wonder people liked to work on engines in the old days.....

          I always understood that the idea behind wing windows, or quarterlights as we call them this side of the pond, was that they allowed the widndow to run between two parallel guides so the winder mechanism didn't have to do any guiding - just winding.

            From this photo. If it is small, click on it. You can see that on the 1955 Chevrolet 6 cylinder engine, you could almost stand next to the engine.
