  • 1964 - Don Branson Wynn's Roadster

I am seeking any photos of the roadster Don Branson ran on many of the mile and mile and a half tracks in 1964. I know he ran the rear
engine Watson at Indy, but I believe for Phoenix, Milwaukee, etc. he preferred the Watson roadster to the rear engine car.

I have not been able to find any photos of the Wynn's Roadster from 1964 via typical Google search, etc. If anyone has any photos, please
post them, I am always interested in seeing Don Branson and I feel the Wynn's livery as used by the Leader Card team was one of the nicest
    I have ever seen.

Thanks in advance for any help!

    try this

"Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved
body, but rather to skid in sideways, totally worn out, shouting
    "...holy $^!+...what a ride!"

Unusual to see a roadster with wide tires.

Thanks Niseguy! Hopefully some other photos surface as well... it would be great to get one or two in color if possible. This was
also his backup car at Indy in 1964, but I don't know if it was actually on the track or not...

        Thank you for the help!

Branson and Ward had their Watson roadsters from 1963 as back ups to the new rear engine Watsons. Ward's was qualified by Chuck Stevenson, I also don't know if Branson's ever got on the track.
"You just don't know what Indy Means", Al Unser Jr.

"That's why to me it does feel more precious when an American wins it...", Michael Andretti

The rear-engine ran at Milwaukee too.

Branson won the March `65 season-opener Phoenix 150 in the roadster.

I never realized it at the time, being 15 years of age, that I had missed that he was a real driver.

Although I did see him drive the wheels off the Watson dirt car at Langhorne in 8/66.
