      I sometimes wonder if that sculptured area in the side of the car was in the original design.

        It was indeed--since 1956 model year.

        What I think is missing on this one are the chrome strakes on the trunk lid. Think this was '59 only but maybe '58 instead.

          How lucky was he to have the original 283 still around? But then it says he put dual quads on it, which I doubt were available in 59.
          A book fell on my head, and I only have my shelf to blame.
