  • Spotted: March... something

This may be an F1 car, or an IndyCar. I have no idea. It's been retrofitted with a Pontiac motor according to the cowling. It has a ground effects tray coming out the back (that I should've photographed). Photo from last night.

It's sitting on display at the Reading Racing Reunion this week. Is this really a March 88B? WTF is it doing here?!

i'd say it is a F-3000 car. European series in late 80s to 90s.. Roberto Moreno won the Euro Series in 1990 i believe.
I'm not sure if there was an american series using theose cars.. as i was over there at that time. Perhaps the Indy Lights Series... Players series kind of rings a bell

I say its a March 88B F3000 car, the original Indy lights car was based on the March 86B F3000 car. Hillclimbs, especially in Europe, bring out lots of strange and very fast cars.

        From back in the day:

Yes, it is an 88b F-3000 car. Only 2 were built. It was an updated 87b and carried either a Cosworth or a Judd engine. Looks like there has been some aero development...
