  • "Victory by Design" and the Indianapolis 500?

Has anyone heard anything about something like this? I tell you, something along the lines of "Victory by Design", the program Alain de Cadenet hosts and is seen from time to time on SPEED would be fantastic.

If you haven't seen it, episodes of "Victory by Design" are based on particular makes (for example, they've covered the histories of Porsche, Mercedes and Ferrari), archival footage is included and de Cadenet drives examples of particularly important cars from each marque.

Imagine a show or series of shows about the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and the 500 where someone drives cars from the various eras of the Speedway. Could be the greatest television show about racing ever created.

    Thoughts?

Are you saying you've heard there might be an episode about the 500? I'd buy that DVD for sure!! It would have to be at least 2 hours!

I'm asking if anyone has heard anything about something like this being done and if not, why? It would be a great program and enough Indy winning cars are around to do such a program.

I don't think that particular show is done anymore, but if IMS Productions wanted to do it out of their own pocket, I imagine they would at least break even off the DVD sales.
