His block to the grass was retaliation from getting turned sideways by shitforbrains Kenseth only 20 laps into the race.
And he said so after the race.
No whining, no dancing, just "he started it, I finished it".
His crewchief told it like it was too:
"That's what they saw, and we took our lumps, came in and went back out," Zipadelli said. "I mean, it is what it is. They warned us, they did it to other people, so it's not a big deal. As long as they stay consistent and keep doing it that way, I'm all right with it."
I'm a bigger fan of Smoke after this race than I was before.
"You people worry too much. Strive for change. Root for your favorites. Enjoy the racing. Drop the flag." rev-ed, 3/04
I don't care if it's not "popular" to say around here or not. The guy's a maroon. He talks about "somebody getting killed" out there, gets his cheap attention for the week, and then tries to take someone out at 190 as retaliation. That kind of crap might be "ok" at Martinsville or some short track maybe, but in plate racing? come on. Kenseth very nearly spun right back into the path of the entire field, he could have gotten t-boned and could have taken 20+ cars with him.
I'm tired of him. I was tired of him ten years ago when he showed up at Indy and whined and *****ed when he couldn't win it right off the bat. Sure he's talented, and sure he wins, but come on, the guy's a maroon.

Yep,,, just because he's a former open wheeler, he gets alot of defense on here.
His message is clear: If you make any mistake, or if you do something I dont like, Im coming after you.
He's a maroon............but NASCAR loves him!
The real dummy was Kenseth...he had everything going for him including the announcers...his idiot move that gave him a penalty probably cost him several positions...not bright...
Hey, just kiddin', I think Tony was the most interesting racer for all of speedweeks, but from his interview I suspect even he knew he probably did a lot more to MK than he deserved, probably more than he intended, but that's what happens when you've got fenders and the boss man allows it. TS certainly got by with doing more for less penalty... but some days, we all do

Today Tony was a jerk.
Yeah, Kenseth was stupid for his pit exit dance, but it was nothing comapred to Tony's attack.
So as far as NASCAR is concerned running someone off the track to the extent that Tony himself nearly went on the grass is only a back of the line offense.
Sure Kenseth escaped unscathed for the most part, but without a winning car. So let's play what ifs:
What if Kenseth had slamed the wall hard?
What if 2 or three other cars became involved?
What if even more cars had become involved or even (and know this was unlikely) injured?
NASCAR is still going to wink and gesture him to the back of the line?
I know it doesn't matter, but I won't be rooting for Tony anytime soon.
The guy is a jerk, a smarta$$, a maroon, a moron, and someone not worthy of respect.

I have the hots for Khaleesi...
Well said. They need to send people to the back of the line for aggressive driving. They need to send people to the garage for intentionally taking someone out.
I missed all the fireworks. I watched the start. Realized there was little to no point watching the "racing" until the last ten laps so I took a quick nap. Unfortunately I forgot I had turned the volume down on the radio and I didn't wake up in time to watch the ending.
But they must be kidding! I saw on the replay on CNN the Kenseth move on Stewart coming out of the pits. I chuckled since it was just a common move to let another driver know what you're thinking. I was waiting for the footage that showed what Kenseth was penalized for and then realized that WAS it.
Amazing.
Stewart and Earnhardt always seem to get WAAAY lessor penalties for bigger infractions. It used to tick me off but I realized that Nascar has decided to be all about show, so I get it, I guess.
I still feel bad for the drivers without as much fan clout. They seem to get really screwed on both penalties and bogus yellow flags.
I'm glad Nascar is moving to some non restrictor plate tracks. I watch almost every one of those. Should be a fun season. I just tend to tune out for Daytona and Talledega. They used to be my favorites back in the 70's and 80's.
Got to watch out for those Libertarians - they want to take over the government and leave everyone alone!
