Once again, my country was shown disrespect by another National Anthem singer at today's race. Tho, this was a NASCAR race, I am sure that similar things happen at other major sporting events. I wish I could start mass mailings and emailings to NASCAR about this issue. It probably be pointed out to me that it is the track who supplies the ceremonies. Yes, but, I'll bet if NASCAR hears enough complaints, they will do something about this issue.

NoviVespa, I agree with you! That guy is crud! He can't sing! He disrespects our Country and our Anthem! Where do they come up with these jerks anyway? I never heard of who he is so I can't report a name but something needs to be done with these poor renditions of our Anthem! NASCAR, Nextel, NBC, Homestead Speedway and anyone else involved with the production of the race should be ashamed for getting such jerks to do this to our Anthem!!

Good judgement comes from experience, and a lotta that comes from bad judgement.

Although I do not like the "professional" renditions I respectfully ask to all,,,,
How should it be sung, as long as the words are correct?
I've often thought of having school choirs but then you'd have the whole church / state debate, then I thought about having service men and woman as well as their children instead of the fly over but it's still military so you'd have the anti military pundants coming outa the wood work. What can be done?If you don't stand behind our troops, PLEASE, feel free to stand in front of them.

First off, he has a crappy voice. You'd think nascar would at least pick someone who could sing.
Second, I prefer the notes in the song to be sung as written, and not embelished upon. I think that is what really gets under my skin. Rock and roll, Country, and everything else is open to interpretation, but IMO, not the National Anthem.
Third, it should be sung at a medium pace and not drug out too long.
These are, of course, personal preferences on my part....---...

he is the former lead singer of Creed, now going solo.
I saw Creed once in concert, excellent show, but agree that his voice is not a national anthem one.
I have heard that is the hardest song in the world to sing, and judged by how many bad versions we hear, believe it.

It takes a singer with great range to pull it off. That said, my band had practice (gotta work on my range) so I never saw it. Did Scott strike his usual messianic Bono rip off poses while singing, like he does on every song of his????

Hard to sing? That is lame. Go to any National League Baseball game, National Hockey League game, National Basketball game, National Football game, etc., and you will find singers who can render the National Anthem properly. Why can't NASCAR? Even my local midget short track has a young girl sing it properly.
