Nice run by #14-Larry Foyt, who starts 12th, his best career start, the Foyt Racing team is running an Evernham car and engine [the engine is normal] and the team may not be back in 2004.

Many around here, myself included, have said AJ needs to step back to just the IRL and concentrate on getting that team straight and AJ IV, who has shown more potential then Larry up to speed. Larry seems like a really smart guy with good looks and charm, I think he would do well be groomed by AJ to some day take over the race team and maybe ork on getting them a sponsor to run 2 cars in the IRL.

By all reports, Larry Foyt is a nice person. The car racing thing didn't work out for him. No talent for it. Time to find regular work.

Kyle Petty should retire from driving and running Petty Ent and work on his charity camp. He can't drive anymore (never was great) and can't manage a team.

As a followup Larry posted a 16th place finish, his best ever and on the lead lap. I didn't see the race so I don't know if he ran well or lucked into it. I did see actually used one of Everhams cars this week and I would presume had their help on setup so while I still doubt Larry is a championship contender maybe he is better then we have been giving him credit for and the cars are a big part of the issue.

He gets a decent car, qualifies 12th and finishes 17th, at least a nice ending to a nightmare season.

I have said it before, I love AJ, but if he can't run a solid 100 percent effort, preferably a two car team, he should leave Nascar and put all his effort into the IRL.

I was really happy for Larry yesterday. I will say that the equipment probably had a lot to do with it. If Foyt has the Harrahs sponsorship, maybe they would be better off letting Larry take that money to another team.

Biggest problem with the foyt teams $$$ or lack there of.
And Mister AJ needs to get out of the sixties and join the rest of us.
Dont take this as a dislike of AJ, Nobody IMHO could drive like Him a Master bar none!
The man has more knowledge of race cars pre moderen era than most but needs more bucks and some of the latest enginering as staff members.

Larry Foyt has done the most with what he has more than any other under funded team. Look at Derrike Cope he falls out after about 30 or so laps the same with Hermie Sadler. Larry always tries to run the whole race be it 6 laps down or not. This season showed he has the talent and determination even though he DNQed for 10 races . I myself have been a fan since he was running in the asa series.

hendrick motors. not a snap or anything, the only thing is, that team may be underfunded but they have always ran well in the busch series they just dont have a sponsor. although they did do a heck of a job with what was handed to them.
