  • Foyt 2004

After the utterly dismal season that Larry and the team are having, is there any way they roll back out next year?

If they will, what will be different?

I am a huge Foyt fan, but this has gone from bad to worse to just plain embarrasing.

If money is no object, and I don't know how much AJ has in the bank, I would come back with a second car with a veteran, say a John Andretti. Someone who could give some honest feedback about what the car is doing and someone who could help Larry.

Otherwise, I say it is time to fold up shop.

Larry is beyond help. He was slow in ASA, and slow in BGN. If Foyt is going to make a go of it, he needs to hire an actual race driver.

What actual race car driver would sign up with Foyt's operation?

Foyt's WC and IRL efforts this year have been awful. I sure hope they get it together in 04.

First off, I hope that John does not commit career sucide by getting into that back marker. Second, I hope John lands full time at DEI or Childress. Third, AJ needs to go back to the IRL full time with two cars. Drop the pathetic Nascar team and get back to the grass roots AJ.

Heck, Larry may stink as a NASCAR driver, but check out this gem from Foyt's PR bunch...

Hot Shot! A.J.’s son Larry Foyt , 26-year-old NASCAR Winston Cup rookie driver, was selected by Cosmopolitan Magazine as one of the U.S.’s hottest bachelors and will be featured in “Cosmo’s Bachelor Bonus” in the November issue (on sale Oct. 14th ). Foyt traveled to the exclusive Hamptons on Long Island (NY) for the photo shoot/interview earlier in the summer. One bachelor from each state was selected. Foyt, who is actually a Texan, was chosen to represent North Carolina because of his race driver status. "I didn't quite know what to say when they told me I was selected," said Foyt. "I had a blast in New York when I did the interviews and photo shoot. I also got a chance to meet some of the other bachelors and they were all pretty cool."

Oh, please! I'm the Foyt fan from Mars, but this is too much. Larry couldn't get arrested as a race driver, and as far as being super-bachelor.............can you say; DAD'S MONEY!

I'd be curious to hear from the ladies who they think is more desirable: Larry Foyt or Jeff Gordon.

NASCAR is totally revamping the provisional system next year to prevent the re-numbering scam and all of that.

Foyt will have to be fast enough to actually qualify for the races next year. I think he actually made 3 on merit this year.

Sorry but this didn't work out for him. He needs to find other work and move on.

Not being a buddy of Foyt, I don't know, but, it would seem to me that he doesn't really care hence the rides for Larry and Anthony...neither have much talent in my opinion...

I just don't think it could have been a worse year for this team. As I said before, the only way I would like to see them come back would be with a 2 car team with a veteran to help Larry out on set ups, and a total committment from AJ.

Otherwise, please spare us Foyt fans the pain, oh the pain.

Both Larry and Anthony were put into their respective situations before either paid their dues or showed winning talent at a lower level.

I didn't see Larry in person before the jump to cup.

I did see Anthony-nice kid, and has some talent-he just needed much more seasoning before making the jump, and IMO the time in the IPS did him very little in the way of good.

A.J. is really a smart guy when it comes to the race cars, but the list of drivers who have come and gone, and been turned down after testing makes one wonder what is going on in the Foyt camp.

I still think that Foyt has set the standards by which all other drivers are judged....to me he was the best.

                            But the burning question is...

Would you let your daughter marry Larry Foyt.....and...................................... .......................have A.J. for a father-in-law....????? I mean he (AJ) would come over for dinner and all the lap tops in the house would be airborne

Did Larry even make an attempt at Martinsville? I missed qualifying and the paper did not show the DNQ's
