    The Natives Are Getting Restless

Is this the beginning of a trend?

It's a continuation of an old trend. This has been going on for as long as I can remember. Rubbin' will rile ya.

This has been going on for how long and they haven't been able to stop it ? Gimme a break.....that's like letting a kid run wild until he's 18 and then expect him to act like an adult the next day.

All I know is that the local dirt track , you act like that , you're done for the year . 'Course , none of them have million dollar sponsors to throw their weight around....

BTW-the above is directed at post race hissy fits , not on track "bumping" which is as much a part of short track stock car racing as it ever has been , and always will be , like it or not.

That's not all, apparently there were several fights in the pits and garage area after Friday nights Busch race too.

        Penalties to follow......

I really do hope that Nascar wants to stop this sort of behavior. I guess we will be able to tell by the penalties handed out.

You want to stop it toot sweet?
              Simple.
Next race at the driver's meeting give 'em this speech:
"Boys , this crap's gone on entirely too long , and it's gonna stop NOW . It may be our fault for not doing enough before , but from now on if you have a problem with another driver , you bring it to us and we'll sort it out. You do it yourself on the track , we'll park you immediately and suspend you for the next race. You do it after the race and your gone for the next two at a minimum . Either way we're gonna fine the crap out you and you have to pay it , not the team , not the sponsor - you .
As for pit crews , the same goes. None of this "he started it" baloney. You act like an idiot , you're gone just like the driver and the same fine deal goes. If it happens twice , you sit the rest of the year.
              Any questions?
              I didn't think so.
              Now go act like adults".

Sounds like one of the truly great speeches of our time, only it will never be heard from NASCAR. Some drivers continue to act like spoiled six year olds.

I said this earlier in the year. If I want to watch brawls, I'll watch Avalanche-Red Wings hockey. This is getting old fast. I'm just about done with it.

If it wasn't for the behavoir, would the people watch?

Let me get this straight. I't s Saturday night short track stock car racing, there's a fight after the races and eveyone is surprised? Heck, I see that just about every week locally, it's just that this is on national TV.
I'll see YOU at the races!

The sad thing about it is they will not do anything about it - it sells too many tickets and generates the rating points.
