  • Engine problems at the Glen

This from the Ned Jarrett Fantasy League "Hot Tips"

Four drivers are heading to the rear of the field on the pace lap today due to engine changes.

During inspection after Happy Hour, a lifter problem was discovered in the engine on Tony Stewart's Chevy. The engine change this morning means he will give up his 4th place starting slot.

After Happy Hour, Jimmy Spencer's team changed engines. He won't have far to go to get to the back of the pack. Spencer was to have started 39th after taking a provisional to get into the show.

This morning, Jimmy Johnson's crew discovered water in one of the cylinders, and Chad Knaus says there was a possibility of a cracked head. The engine change sends Johnson to the rear at the start, instead of taking the green flag from 20th.

Also this morning, the engine was changed in the U.S. Army Pontiac of Boris Said and head to the back as well.
