  • Drivers complaining about qualifying format

Its got a few bugs in it and what they're complaining about is a legit gripe as its a danger to the drivers

Is there any way to make it safer for the drivers

Cooling box is the answer. It's only going to get worst as it gets hotter. NASCAR needs to make this change it's the safe thing to do!

I assume they are running these hot qualifying laps with a ton of tape on the front grill. Why not just mandate that teams can't put any tape on the front grill, or wherever else air comes in to cool off the engines?

Drivers complain about everything. That's what they do.

If it's too much tape on the front end then the sanctioning body should just tell the teams to deal with it & maybe not use so much tape.

But sounds as if they made the change to allow the cooling box.

Pemberton has been telling the teams this since Daytona...Obviously it didn't work.

This just seems silly to me when the most logical thing would be to just have the teams run without tape.

Or keep a minimum speed on the track and warm up lane, and if they drop below that speed (just riding along with the engine off or going slowly to let the engine cool off) then they get docked X amount of qualifying spots.

But I guess it's only money. Cooling boxes now, tire warmers tomorrow. LOL
