  • Cup Restocking Talent Pool

Justin Allgaier, Kyle Larson, Austin Dillon, Cole Whitt and Parker Kligerman all named to full-time rides for 2014. Michael McDowell will likely finally be in a "non start-park" car. Stenhouse in his 2nd year. Bayne still doing his part-time schedule. Ryan Blaney will be coming very soon.

And all are real racers, are where they are on merit and talent and have the potential to be very good Cup drivers.

I think this trend in Cup hiring is a positive one. No need to keep recycling the Mike Skinner's and Todd Bodine's and Elliott Sadler's of the world. As the Gordon's and Stewart's and Martin's and Burton's and Kenseth's of the Cup world come to the twilight of their Cup careers, a new crop of youngsters is warming up in the pen to take their spots. Time for them to get their feet wet now and get started.

I agree with you on all of this, and they don't seem to be the yes ma'am, no ma,am, awww shucks type guys we have now. These boys will show emotion and speak up, and not just give you the "talking points".

Off topic, but, Stenhouse rode by us in the fan zone at CMS in October, coming from a autograph session. Damn, that boy's small, he definitely hasn't been in a fight before. He better be careful wearing all that "cowboy" gear around.

I don't think Jeb Burton will be too far behind either.

And I'm betting Chase Elliott will be ready (or close-enough to ready for Rick's liking) to slide into the 24 by the time Gordon hangs it up.

A big thumbs up on this deal!! Hendrick has been dumping BIG money into the Elliotts these past few years. Bill has only been the figurehead, it's been all Hendrick bankrolling and leading the kid, and he wouldn't be doing that unless he's setting him up for that big #24 ride!

There are so many great drivers in the Camping World Truck Series.

Part of me is excited to see them get to Cup.

Another part of me feels as though the Trucks race better, so they get to show their talent in more exciting ways if they stay.

I am very happy about the Swan Racing lineup.

I hope Timmy Hill continues, too.

It looks like Hill will be full time next year. Stoddard really likes him a lot, even though he's real hard on him during the race and practice (which there is nothing wrong with that). Plus, Schrader is done, and Texas Terry, if he runs for Congress, he's done at least for a while. I don't know where Terry will end up if he doesn't. I really hope Talladega wasn't his last race, Stoddard screwed him hard on the strategy in that race. They had a very good car and could have been up there for the end.

Add Corey LaJoie to that list of good up and coming drivers.

A car owner putting money into a young driver and investing in his and his team's future???

That's just a ridiculous way to run a business. Why don't they just wait for the driver to bring millions of dollars to them and just hope they are worth a damn? Or have some other owner take a risk and do all the work for them and then poach them once they look like they have some talent? That's how it done nowadays, right?

Which is not the same as saying they all will be, but at least they'll get a shot to prove it.

Petty will run Dakoda Armstrong in NW in the 43? Why is he running Armstrong over Ryan Truex or Corey Lajoie? Because Armstrong is bring sponsorship from Winfield.

@zsimpson05 @MRNRadio Needs to find sponsorship. Sponsor followed Dakoda Armstrong and that helps.

Forget it, OP isn't worth my time and it seems like the only time I ever get in trouble around here is dealing with posters like him.

After several years out of the driver development game it has been good to see HMS getting back into it.

Yep, not a one on that list got where they are now on merit & talent alone.
