  • More Trouble at MWR?

Michael's Business Partner has basically said that they have given certain employees permissions to "look at other options", people under contract.
Could this be the opening for Truex to sign with Furniture Row and possibly bring some of his guys? Phoenix Racing, or whatever the new owner will name it, may be looking to hire. I smell trouble.
I like to talk about Racing & Rant about Commercials, why because they are irritating...Then again so am I.

Furniture Row has done pretty well with what it has now.

This is a problematic ride, as for a driver it's basically an opportunity to confirm you're not as good as Kurt Busch.

I think Martin already knows that he isn't as good as Kurt Busch.

Without a replacement sponsor for the 56 they won't be able to run that car so I'm sure the people who work on that car have already seen the light and started looking elsewhere and the co owner was simply recognizing that that was happening.

Furniture Row is in a unique situation, not every crew person can or is going to be willing to move to Colorado. It isn't guaranteed to be a long term relocation and could raise family problems if it is expected to be. The same applies to drivers many of whom believe being at the shop during the week helps build the team. On the radio this weekend the possibility of Sam Hornish jr. going there came up and it was said that someone at FRR just didn't think Sam was right for the team. The opinion was expressed that as the isolated one car team they think they need a better Cup driver who can help with the car because he won't have a teammate to compare things with. Say what you like about Kurt Busch he does have the experience with several top Cup teams and a championship to get by without a teammate.

This is at least the accepted mantra at TF now. Kurt has one championship and a history of being a head case and shooting his foot out of a couple of legendary rides. He has done a nice job rehabbing his career at FR no doubt -- but when has he been elevated to the status of unmatchable icon?

Truex may not have much of a choice but to sign with Furniture Row unless something comes up in the last second.

              Aloha JSJ,,,

              I have a feeling like,,, I have been "Piling-On"
with MWR and da "Buffoon"... That being said,
NASCAR did it's best to save the sponsors, MWR,
and "Michael"... Maybe it's an impossible task,,,
to save Michael, from Michael himself... Not Sure,,,

This is somewhat personal for me,,, "Michael" is
just atrocious on TV... Only thing he has ever
done for me, is that now I can "take" Rusty
and "Jaws" on TV, as long as it's in small doses...
Anything is an improvement over Michael... Both
Rusty and Jaws have improved immensely in the
last couple of years... Now they are just simply
              horrible,,, instead of stomach wrenching
              atrocious,
              like Micheal.....

I have wondered "who" was driving the "bus"
at MWR for awhile... For years Michael has put
forth "much" effort, to convince all of us,
that he was no more than a "Buffoon"...
A "Buffoon" cloned in a human body. never to
              be be taken seriously...

Here's a link to Jayski's, with a little more information
on majority owner Rob Kauffman, and who
may now be "driving" the bus at MWR...

I wonder what the "worth" or "net worth" of
that team was,,, or is today ???? I know it's
a lot less today, then it was before Richmond...
Maybe one of the questions that has to be
asked, "Are we as fans, and NASCAR as a
whole, better off with MWR in the mix ? Or
are we better off without them...

              For Me,

"We" as fans, and NASCAR as a whole, are
much better off with MWR in the mix... It's
a shame that Bowyer and Truex have been
sucked down the rat hole with MWR, and that
they both have taken such a big hit... But just
like the rest of NASCAR, and especially for the
fans, it was a big hit... Sponsor wise, just a
killer, and it was all so avoidable...

I'd say that would apply to 75% of current Cup drivers........Go Kurt
