Do you think that NAPA might bail out from MWR? I know that NAPA has a long relationship with Michael Waltrip personally, but one must wonder how much of a strain the latest controversy would put on that relationship. I wouldn't think that the corporate office would like being involved with such a situation. Who knows?

judging by the tweet from 5 Hour Energy, they might be.

We respect NASCAR's penalties against MWR & are addressing our sponsorship relations internally. We appreciate your understanding & patience"

How many times has Chad Knaus been suspended for what he did to the car? Is there any sign Lowes pays Hendrick a dollar less than they did?
Why is Smokey Yunick hailed as a hero for his skirting the rulebook? The MWR crime is being so dumb as to leave a trail of evidence and Bowyer not being able to figure out a way to get close to another car to look like he got spun or just passing someone on the outside and blaming the marbles or lack of grip."You can't arrest those guys, they're folk heroes"
"They're criminals"
"Well most folk heroes started out as criminals"

Statement from Napa
Dear Facebook Fans and the NAPA community,
The actions taken by Michael Waltrip’s Racing team this past weekend leading to the penalties assessed by NASCAR, are very concerning. We are disappointed that a partner associated with our organization would make such a significant error in judgment. In addition, we have launched our own review to determine the future of our partnership with Michael Waltrip’s Racing team. The NAPA AUTO PARTS organization is proud of its long-standing NASCAR relationship. We share a passion with our customers for high quality racing and seek to determine the best course of action for our customers, NASCAR fans, and the NAPA organization.
NAPAI'd rather have 10% of the world interested in the ICS than 50% of US that NASCAR currently has

It appears that Bowyer's primary sponsor is planning some kind of statement...there was a brief Twitter message from Five-Hour Energy stating that they respected NASCAR's ruling and were evaluating their situation. It ended with "We respect your understanding and patience."

You can't get any more visible than what MWR did, and it's the visibility that's important.
Lots of companies have internal ethics programs, most often centered around doing business with governments. Doesn't look good to be dealing with a supplier that doesn't.

I'll bet Truex would like to take NAPA and leave MWR right now. He didn't want or ask for any of this crap. He thought he just had made the Chase.Every race I run in is in preparation for the Indianapolis 500. Indy is the most important thing in my life. It is what I live for. - Al Unser Jr.
Everything I ever wanted in my life, I found inside the walls of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. - Eddie Sachs.
