Well, since he is close to 76 years old, I would say he is taking it easy and living the rewards of his long career.

He still works for Speed/Fox. Just a few small reports here and there. Mainly retired.

the guy that shot video at my old track in NJ used to drive up there every week to shoot. It was like 6 or 7 hours each way but it was worth it so he said.

Kicking myself still for never taking him up on the offer to tag along one week

Ken and Dave Despain have been together on Speed at SpeedWeeks for the past few years. They act as "hosts" for the practice sessions that Speed televises. It is great television. Dave will ask a question, and get out of the way as Ken expounds on the topic. The amount of historical information in his brain is impressive. He is a racing treasure and I hope he continues for a very long time.

Stowe is a great town! Much bigger than the town I live in. Cold is good......one of the best hiking trails is on the back edge of the town within sight of the steeple.......Ken's best line was the one when Bodine won the 500 when he was talking about the car's "fuel economaki"

Memories of early '70s Spring Sizzlers at Stafford come to mind. On the PA microphones: Ken Squire, Jack Arute, Mike Joy, Dick Berggren. The announcing was great and the racing was even better!

Ken actually lives in Waterbury, VT, which is about ten miles or so down the road from Stowe. He is not really a "Stowe" (think Aspen wanna-be community) kind of guy. He owns thunder road speedway in Barre, and WDEV a.m. radio in Waterbury ( i think). He is locally active in a variety of events (some political) and if you want to see him, and the greatest parade on the face of the earth, go the The Moscow Parade next fourth of July.

His voice was my first exposure to NASCAR racing and the Daytona 500. He was and is a great talent and I hope he continues to enjoy health and prosperity.
