O’Reilly POWRi National Midgets at I-55 Raceway
Millstadt – The O’Reilly POWRi National Midget Series will compete on Wednesday, June 14th at the lightning fast ¼ mile dirt speed plant of I-55 Raceway in Pevely, MO. It is billed as Compton Roofing Night with Winged Sprints and UMP Late Models. Local NASCAR stars Ken Schrader and Kenny Wallace will be competing in the UMP Late Model portion of the program. Other NASCAR stars are yet to be announced.
“It has been almost five years since midgets have hit the high banks of I-55 and we’re really excited to get the opportunity to showcase some open wheel talent there,” said Jim Siner of POWRi Racing. “Ray (Marler) and Kenny (Schrader) are great promoters and with the mix of classes that are competing that night the fans will be the big winners.”
The O’Reilly POWRi National midgets would also like to announce the addition of the Rocky Mountain Midget Racing Assoc. (RMMRA) as a co-sanctioning body to the Independence Speed Weekend of their schedule. The weekend begins on June 30th at Midway Speedway in Lebanon, Mo then on July 1 at Bolivar Speedway in Bolivar, MO and wrapping up at Montgomery Co. Speedway in New Florence, MO on July 2nd. The O’Reilly POWRi Outlaw Micro Sprints will also be competing at these venues the same weekend.
O’Reilly POWRi Racing has reached an agreement with Bell Helmets as a sponsor for the 2006 racing season. The champions from each of the POWRi divisions will win a helmet of their choice for their accomplishment and also drivers from each division will be eligible for gift certificates from Bell Helmets towards Bell Racing Products.
