  • Ft. Wayne Roll Call

Anyone going up? Or coming south, as it may be?

I have to work. Been on a quasi-vacation all week, so it's back to work tomorrow.

Don't forget, a hotshot NASCAR star is supposed to be there.

I will be there both days. I will arrive around mid afternoon each day. I am meeting a couple of people Thursday around three. Would like to get together with the TF'ers as well. Any suggestions?

I will be in the stands and drinking beers with my roadracing buddies on Thursday. On Friday I am down to drive in the purple #21 midget(no beers though).

We are talking about going Friday; I'm assuming one could purchase one night tickets on a walk-up basis. Anyone know for sure?

Yes, you can. If you want you can purchase a one night ticket online & print it out on your computer.

indysix-feed me enough beers on Thursday and the ride could be yours on Friday. Actually, this is my fourth year in a row racing at Ft Wayne and with all of the spectacular crashing that I have done up there, I often wonder why I have to be sober to do it!

Is there no web site dedicated to the race itself??

INDIANAPOLIS – The entry list for the annual
                            “Rumble in Ft. Wayne” continues
to grow as the United States Auto Club completes
its first 50 years as a
                            racing sanctioning body.

More than 40 cars are entered for the two-day
                            affair at the Memorial
Coliseum Expo Center, highlighted by the entries
of cars to be piloted by
several USAC champions. Among those driving are
                            last year’s winners: Tony
Stewart and Dave Darland. Stewart, now a two-time
                            NASCAR Nextel Cup Series
champion, won the opening night of competition in
                            2004 under the alias
“Mikey Fedorcak,” while Darland claimed the next
                            night’s 60-lapper.

Joining Stewart and Darland are multiple-time
                            USAC titlists Tony Elliott and
Mel Kenyon. Elliott, a two-time National Sprint
                            champion, competed in one of
the two races and is a hometown favorite, having
                            grown up a short distance
away in Warsaw, Ind. Kenyon, a seven-time
                            National Midget champ, continues
to threaten for victories at age 72, having
                            nearly won a Regional Midget
race at the Indianapolis Speedrome in August.

Other pre-event favorites include Billy Wease,
who will drive a stock car

                            Heydenreich, who finished fourth in
the USAC Silver Crown Series in 2005; and David
                            Gough, the 2004 UMARA

                              AWESOME!!

Had a blast last night. Watching Stewart vs. Darland was intense until some of the amatures tried to become heros and took out the stars.
