why is Mesa Marin being torn down in the first place?
this looks like a copy of that track in the same general location.
did they get booted due to sound or development or what?
I drove in a stock car school at Mesa Marin a few years ago- pretty fun, but a bit monotonous without being able to race

The Current Operations Permit For Mesa Expires In 2007. The Idiot Developers Have Built Half Million Dollar Houses Right Up To The Race Track Boundary. Marion Collins Is 67 Years Old And Saw The Hand Writing On The Wall. When A Developer Made An Offer He Couldn't Refuse, He Sold The All Of The Land (For A Sum With Lots Of Zeroes In It) But The 7 Acres His Older Son's Race Car Shop Is On And Pulled The Plug After The October Classic. His Younger Son Put Together This Deal. It Is West Of Bakersfield (Mesa Marin Was East Of Town) And Has Interstate Access. While There Will Be No Paved Venue For 2006 In "B Town", They'll Come Back Strong In 2007. The New Track Is Banked Four Degrees Less Than Mesa And D Shaped Rather Than The Paperclip Configuration Of The Old Track. The Amenities Planned Sound An Awful Lot Like Irwindale.
