Lots of labels you can give this guy. Start, of course, with 2005 NASCAR champ. But still a short-tracker at heart.

Congrats to Tony, and a thousand thanks for remembering your roots!

I doubt that he'll ever forget his roots. He's just that type of guy. Congrats to the 'changed' Tony and his entire race team!!

And a few weeks after getting paid handsomely in the Big Apple I expect he will be driving the Munchkin in Ft. Wayne.

        Congrats, Smoke.

Come on back to Open Wheel, Smoke. You've proved if it has wheels you can win in it.

Not gonna happen. Reason - notice the amount on the check. That's why.

I always kinda liked that "Rushville Rocket" label myself. Don't you Danny??

Shame on me. Sorry, I just can't help myself.

I don't mean to start a rumor, but has anyone heard if Tony might pop up at Irwindale for Turkey night this year? As I recall, he did make the race after his first championship, as well several other Turkey nights since it's been at Irwindale.

Just to arouse a little jealousy in our Eastern friends: My wife's family is all in Southern California (we're in Northern Nevada). It has become a family tradition to have Thanksgiving dinner at one of their houses. After dinner, all the guys head for Irwindale; the women do dishes and rest up for a mad day of shopping on Friday. Which, of course, the guys ultimately pay for.

I wouldn't be surprised. He already has 2 cars there for Kevin Swindell and Josh Wise. Seems 1 more doodlebug wouldn't be a problem for a guy who was just handed a check for over 5 million dollars.

                        Change of plans

No parade on the 17th of December, it seems now. According to our local paper, Tony will be busy elsewhere that day. Plus shutting down any streets here in December makes the local merchants nervous, as they want to maximize their Christmas profits.

So, there is a tentative plan to have a 2 day celebration in January and hope that lots and lots of Tony fans can come to town and spend lots and lots of their money.

Is this an All-American City or what?
