I can relate to the stuff being stolen. Sunday night our race trailer was broken into in a chained and locked fenced in lot and most everything was stolen. Fortunatly we had the truck in the shop.

Jimmie Davies the great Calif midget ace never knew who stole his midget until some five years later he saw a picture of a guy getting upsidedown in a midget and losing his life. They never even changed the number 2 or the paint job on the car...

            This is not exactly true.
The car was stolen from Jimmy as He was operateing it in 1952.
The Pat Clancy spl's. picture was seen in 1954 by Davies in the L.A. Times. At that time it was driven by a Ray Smith to his death. The cars number at the time was 19.
Davies recognized the car by its unusal shape and went up there to claim it.
Clancy wanted no part of it since He had already written it off after it was stolen. So Jimmy then became its owner.
Jimmy went on to win 3 National midget titles in this same car and unfortunately it was also the one He lost His life in.
