Look for Indiana Sprintweek to be July 11th -19th. USAC is raise the purse so look for some tracks to say no. But it is Sprintweek and lots of people travel to see the series so the tracks should pay better.
Originally posted by DannyB Welcome, Smoke. I hope you're right about the dates. If so, I picked the right vacation weeks after all.
Something that my friend Fishburger doesn't have to worry about any more.
Right you are Danny, however being old enough to retire usually presents other worrisome situations, though they now have a little blue pill which helps the cause somewhat.
My early concern about Indiana Sprint Week would include some of the tracks historically included. These are all RUMORS at this point but have heard that:
1. Kokomo is very iffy for '04 with neighboring land developer and IRS rumored factors.
2. USAC relationship with Putnamville (Lincoln Park) owner Dave Allison not in good shape after surprise full program for E-Mods and Street Stocks added to '03 Sprint Week Show.
3. And of course you never know what will happen at Vernon (Twin Cities). I know they have noise issues with neighbors. IMO the best thing for that track would be for Terry Eaglin and Bobby ? (brain fade - can't recall this hard working nice guy's last name) to retake promoter responsibilties for the high dollar shows.
Lawrenceburg, Gas City, Bloomington, and Haubstadt would again seem to be solid '04 venues.
Anyone here with any "insider" info. I don't have employment considerations but at my age I try to schedule my health problems around sprint racing dates.
