  • Idle thoughts on west coast drivers...

Does anyone know what the following drivers are doing now - Cary Faas, Jordan Hermansader, & Clay Klepper?

I know Clay Klepper currently works at Keco Coatings in Indianapolis, he has been racing a little bit this year. He has been going to Sun Prairie on Sunday nights a lot.

Cary Faas ran 10th (from 12th) in July 26 feature at Perris, CA. I believe that was the makeup feature. I hadn't seen his name in print before that for a long time and haven't noticed if he has run any since.

Brings to mind a great duel he and Dave Darland had a few years back at Terre Haute. Off the top of my head, last night was the first time in a very long time I can remember seeing a sprint car race at THAT with no Dave Darland in attendance.

Yes, I couldn't believe he wasn't there! Any idea why?

I guess that whatever deal he had with Keith Kunz fell through. And Steve Christman may have been too busy on the farm to get his car ready. Either way, it was a shame not to have Dave there.

I think the Keith Kunz deal is just a one-race deal for the Mopar Million. I don't know where Steve Christman is. Didn't he just win a million dollars in the lottery somewhere?

richie, as usual, you are right!!! I didn't get here in time to edit that. But I've not heard anything about Christman winning the lottery.

I'm sorry. He was actually gambling, and it was not a million dollars, closer to about 100,000. What a lucky guy!
