This year's Championship Banquet was on Sunday evening, but other things had distracted me from making this post.
In any case, the big topic being discussed between attendees was the plans for a new class. There's been no known headway on what direction the track plans to take, but there was an interesting addition to the talk here; A man from California who claims he and some friends tested, of all things, an SCCA Spec Racer Ford on a dirt track and are convinced the cars would make an excellent dirt racing class. Some of us think he's completely insane, but more than a few like the idea. I think I'll take a "believe it when I see it" approach.
The big surprise came while handing out the championship awards. A new award was announced that would be given out annually for the track's Most Spectacular Wreck.
Guess who won the award in it's debut season?
