None of those guys who were involved in the Southern mod points battle at the end of the year did themselves any favors with their behavior, so I view them at arm's length, character-wise. But Seuss has definitely succeeded wherever he's gone. There's probably no reason to expect any different in this new endeavor.

I may have missed something but I thought Burt ran pretty clean during the year and benefited from other's misfortune at the end. But yeah, LW and a few other guys did a good job of showing their ass.

In Burt's case, I was referring to the flat tire that he "overcame" to win at Tri-County. It can never be proven, but there were lots of suspicions that it was "self-inflicted" by the team to circumvent the no tire change policy.

But yes, he ran a clean finale to win the title when everyone else involved shat all over themselves in one way or another.

            Good point.
I had forgotten about that, and even though I like Burt I agree with the general consensus on the flat tire.
I guess some would consider it "dirty" and some "smart", but that's always been racing's fine line.
Definitely against "The spirit of the rule" in any case.

Some championship chases make you realize why you love the sport. Others make you wish you hadn't invested the time. That one just made me feel like I needed to take a shower after watching it.
