Montagny said his first taste of Champ Car confirmed this is where he would like to continue his racing career.
"The car was quite good and while I know it's a little older, it is still very physical and very fun to drive," he said.
"I'm here because I want to be here in 2006. I'm not thinking about F1 at all. I did about everything I could do and (F1) didn't give me a chance. I talked with Justin and Sebastien and they told me that this was a very good championship and today showed me that there is a lot here and I want to be part of it."
