  • Pat Patrick's seat for 2004

McGee mentioned in Miami that the their car needs a win real soon right before Servia puts it in the wall. Anyone think that Pruett would move up next year and retake the seat? Especially, if Trans-Am is running on the same weekends. I think servia has had his chance and I think its time for a change.

Scott Pruett, said in an interview on THE TRUTH that he was done with Open Wheel Racing. Sports Cars and stock cars will be what he drives from now on. As always he could change his mind.

I've never been a fan of Servia.

        How about Memo Gidley?

Alex Barron (if he isn't already under contract to Cheever)?

        Max Papis?

        Bryan Herta?

        Or maybe some new blood?

I'd like to see Buddy Rice if he loses his ride with Cheever.

            1. Would love to see Memo get a shot if Patrick can team him up with an experienced teammate(Carpentier, Papis or Pruett).

            2. I think Barron will stay with Cheever and bring Rice back as a teammate so I would rule him out.

            3. Herta will probably stay Andretti-Green because the friendship has has with Michael and I think Honda has been impressed.

            4. New blood from the Toyota Atlantics would be something to think about. Rocky Moran Jr is a name that comes to mind.

Al Unser Jr would work for me!

I was thinking about Unser Jr. as a possible replacement but not sure if Patrick would be keen on him doing a on-off at Indy with another team. There were rumors that Patrick has an IRL chassis in the garage. If enough money is found, this could be a perfect fit for Unser Jr. doing a one-off with Patrick at Indy. McGee has mentioned about 2 cars in CART next year so Unser Jr. would bring a wealth of experience to the table to team up with a rookie(Gidley, Moran, etc).

Al back in CART and still running in the 500 would really be the perfect fit!

not bashing any of the new young guns from carts ladder series, but if patrick needs a win real soon i doubt a rookie would be the way to go, not every guuy is a Montoya or Bourdais...as for lil Al, im not sure that would gaurantee a winning combination either, but it would kick serious ass to see him back in the series!!!!

I'd pick Vasser for the mentor position

with rumor having Russo's team running out of Patrick's shop next year, I would think Yimmy would be the best pick to show Almendinger the finer points.

btw, I've always been a Servia fan, but neither him or Townsend Bell had the help of a veteran.

                        Servia had DaMatta at PPI.

                        More than Bell ever had.

DaMatta was in his second year in CART when he raced at PPI with Servia.
If it doesn't have wings... It isn't worth talking about!

Looks like ASTJ may have picked up a sponsor to keep the current line-up intact for 2004 and buy some Lolas.

I hope your right. Bought a team hat. I'd hate to see it obsolete already.
