  • The JIMMY car was flyin'

Had he not grabbed a box full of nuetrals Saturday during quals Vasser may well have challenged for the win today.

As it was he was quick in Sunday morning warmups and made a bunch of breathtaking passes before coming to grief in a desperate attempt at overtaking his teammate late in the race.

Not a bad day for an elder statesman in an unloved chassis.

Jimmy is a cool dude who can still get the job done in the right package. It's nice to see someone get motivated and produce. He was the only guy that seemed to want to pass on the track today. Not waiting for the pit window, nor complaining about his front end going away like Carp did when he closed on Tracy in the late stages.

Thye mentioned on the broadcast that Jimmy told the crew he wasn't going to come in for a suggested early pit strategy because the car was just too fast. I was hoping he wouldn't get "called" on that.
