  • Are the Atlantics being slotted below the IndyPro Series?

With the recent press release from the Atlantic series about their top two drivers moving to IndyPro and IndyCar Series, are the Atlantics being prepped to be an independent but slotted series below IndyPro?

    Leaving the openwheel ladder thus?:

    IndyCar
    IndyPro
    Atlantics
    Formula BMW

Indy car doesn't seem to have any interest in Atlantics.

The beginning of the next series of bad moves by the irl.

How so? They do have IndyPro already. The Atlantics and IndyPro could easily co exist since they're both support series that run full fields already.

CART ran Indy Lights and Atlantics for years..

..together. I would think Star Mazda would be above Formula BMW, maybe not.

If I were Tony, I would have bought Atlantics too.

It's possible KK and Gerry weren't selling the Atlantics. Both seem committed to continuing to run it. And by and large Atlantics have been better run in recent years than CC was. Perhaps this was part of the deal. They remain the prime development series or something like that. Small price to pay for unity of the big boys I suppose. Atlantics have always been fun to watch with their full fields.
