I live in the flight path's of both Chicago Airports, when I'm outside in the summer, I can see the 747's hanging in the air waiting to land, at O'Hare, mostly in the early evening hours, I'm about 35 miles from both, in opposite directions, amazing how they just float in the air.

That's one thing I've always found amusing about really large aircraft: they look like they're just floating along in the air, when in reality they're actually going like 250+ MPH or something and their great size masks that fact. If you saw a smaller airplane in the same airspace going the same speed you'd think they were haulin'.

I saw Mriya come in for landing once, it really did look like it was hovering, amazing.

Asked how he’d like to be remembered were he hit by a bus tomorrow, Tracy doesn’t hesitate: “I’m a race-car driver. At the last second, I’d swerve and avoid the bus.”

April, '20, it was here 8 times in 2 months. Never going to see it again.

As I was driving to San Antonio after a day on the Gulf, I saw a C-5 Galaxy coming in for a landing at Kelly AFB. I had seen several on the ground, but never one flying. Massive plane.

The 2nd monster plane sighting of my vacation. I'm at a Rangers game. The roof is open, so I can see the planes on approach to DFW. Along with the steady stream of American, United, and Delta narrow bodies was an Air France A380.

I flew on one from SF to London in November. Boarded on the second level through a separate jetway, was in an aisle seat so I never saw the ground. Had no real perception of being on such a big plane.

Last two 747s built were both here last night:

Not sure about these planes but Amazon has about 1/4 of Atlas planes under contract.
