  • What if?

    I'm just posing a question.

Do you think that Tony George would continue to work toward a "unification" if Danica Patrick would win the upcoming Indy 500?

    LOL

It would be like when the merger talks of 99 were happening, and all of a sudden Al Jr was going to be not re-signed by Penske and Wallla... I honestly think TG had his *star* and changed his mind.

Nahhh it's about red or black ink nowadays.

Agree. The product hasn't been working for 10 years now, a couple drivers aren't going to change this now. I think the timing is right on this for both sides. Time for it to happen.

Frankly, I do not believe Tony George should work toward 'unification' of ANY kind, at least with champcar.

Do you really think this is going to be a 25/25/50 deal.

No suicide watch here. I'm excited about getting the 2006 IRL season underway. If I look at any 'merger' from a business standpoint, it really makes no sense. The other guys have virtually nothing to offer except debt and broken relationships. Who needs that?

As the champcar fans would be if we kept the current IRL cars.

LOL... no kidding. That would be a big bone of contention with a lot of people.

Both series are due for a new design, though, no time like the present.

I don't think anything will do except for a completely clean sheet of paper that no one can lay claim to as their own. Build an all new car, make it safe, make it practical and make it pretty.

Or, we could just run the current champcars and then everyone would be happy, right?

Danica could win all of the races and it would not matter. But GEE! Now we're going to fight over what the essence of the agreement is: Merger or KK joining IndyCar.

It does not matter. What does matter is what sponsors, suppliers, potential venues think and feel about it. It will still the the IndyCar series. The joining, acquisition, merger, whatever you feel it should be will be presented in the most effective way to gain attention, money, new fans, and keep pride and dignity for all involved. TG is not handing KK the keys to the IMS or the 500.

The whole Gene Simmons thing is part of this; it's got to be or it would not be happening now. It will be Indy centralized which I think is a good way to start. I'm sure we will see KK at the IMS this May.
Get your head out of your past!!!
