I can think of no reason how it would benefit Champcar to help fill the field and provide a cushion with engines. CC lost one of its best drivers for the season last year. I very much doubt that KK feels a need to help George in any way.

Hopes and dreams. Many, many fans on both sides believe that if only there were one series, things would be great. Merger talk or anything that gets USOW to one series is just an extension of that belief. Imo of course.

Its very unlikely that a CCWS team will attempt to run both races with their CCWS drivers, unless they switch drivers and go to the back.

Because just about everyone adds 1 + 1 and gets 20 when talking about a merger.

Combining two companies with products that don't sell gets you a single company with a product that doesn't sell. Additionally, 1 + 1 isn't even going to get you two in a merger because of events and teams lost in the merger process.

Basically, that NASCAR is a McDonald's hamburger, that the IRL is a Danish (Rose of the Prophet?) with a sweet cherry center but that is baked into the shape of (and with the scent of) a pile of dog poo, and that Champ Car is a Styrofoam sandwich that's coming out with new, tastier bread next year.
