Paul Tracy will make the jump to the NASCAR Busch Series in selected races in 2006. Tracy, who was in Daytona testing an ARCA car for Andy HIllenburg, told MRN Radio's "NASCAR Today" that he will run a second Busch car for Biagi Brothers [#4 team with Mark Green driving] racing next year. "I will be doing the 24 hours again and trying to get some experience in stock cars and make the transition into stock cars in the future Andy Hillenburg, who I am driving for here, has been really helpful with trying to help me out make the transition. We've got a deal 99% done to run 4 or 5 Busch Series racing for Fred Biagi. We've got a sponsor package put together to run a second car. Really my timetable is to be up and running by 2007... maybe run 10 or 11 races and a Cup race or 2 next year." MRN Radio's "NASCAR Today" can be heard on 505 radio stations and XM Satellite Radio.(MRN's NASCAR Today)(12-17-2005)

I don't think he's got the stuff to make it in NASCAR. Look at the last two re-treads to go from CC nee CART to NASCAR. Fittapaldi was a complete wash and Dominguez has been marginal at best.
I think PT's days are numbered in racing after 2006. A one-off here and there in Grand-Am, maybe a gig doing Canadian voice over announcing of races?...Always follow the money

FWIW, Paul is going to have his ass handed to him in NASCAR. He is approaching it in the same way Scott Pruett did -- "Well, this isn't going to be nearly as hard as driving a Champ Car, and I can make a ton of money to boot!"
The only driver in recent memory who moved from the top level of AOW (either one, take your pick) and had any appreciable success in NASCAR was Tony Stewart. And that result is kind of skewed anyway because he came up through an oval-racing background and didn't run any roadies in his IRL days.Tony Johns

I'll be interested in seeing how Paul does. He should be able to ace it, no problem. At least that's what we've heard from CC fans all these years. About how much more difficult CC racing is compared to "just driving in circles" & especially how much more skilled CC drivers are over every other type of series.
Seriously though, I'll be pulling for him. He is an OW guy in the end.

With the exception of Tony Stewart, no top formula car racer has ever made the transition from formula cars to NASCAR. (And Tony Stewart wasn't really a "formula car driver" when he made the transition.) Great drivers should be able to adapt to any sort of cars.
You'll notice, for example, that Sebastien Bourdais had a much better time in IROC than formula car drivers who have only won when racing with the best equipment. (Yes, I'm talking about you, Helio.)
It will be interesting to see how PT does, for sure. Trying out a handful of races while racing in ChampCar is a good way to see if he'll like it/be good at it. I'm not sure that stock cars suit his style.

I bet AJ IV will wreck out first. Did he wreck in all but his last Busch race this year? After years of fighting and a split, guess what, we are all IndyCar
October will always be a sad racing month for me. RIP Greg and Dan. You both were great and we miss you.

What I don't get about this is...the BIAGE BROS????? Two years ago they were running race to race. Where did they get the $$ to land Tracy, or has Paul come to the realization that, until he proves himself, he's nothing more than just a retired journeyman?
